How to Get Your Dog to Come When You Call Your Pet
There is a very common training problem that most people have with their dogs. When you call your dog, your pet runs everywhere but you. It's annoying because you want your dog to obey you, and sometimes your dog has to come to you to ensure your safety or to leave you. Then we discuss what you should do so that your dog comes to you when you call.
First and foremost, the biggest mistake you can make is to call your dog to visit you if he has made a mistake. The animal associates the call with something negative. If this happens, it is confusing for the dog and it is very unlikely that the dog will ever come to you when he calls you, so he will not be punished immediately afterwards.
Do not let your dog run too often. If your dog has fun, that's exactly what he wants to do. In this case, call your pet. It will connect your vocation with the pleasure that you have achieved. This still confuses your pet and causes problems when trying to bring your dog to you.
If your dog is hungry, train him to come to you. This is the best time for it. You will call your dog by offering him food. Take a few steps back and repeat the process. Your dog connects the call you have for him with the action to come to you.
Do not call your dog if you want your pet to stop playing. Come to your pet instead. Again, you do not want to associate the call with the Fun Stop.
Be patient with your dog. Do not run after him if they disobey you. Let the dog come to you. Use your negative command if the dog does something wrong and not the usual reputation.
One of the most important commands you can teach your dog is reputation.
Unfortunately, this is the only command that has the most errors.
Why?
Mainly because of some mistakes we make when we train our dogs to get to the bar.
If we take the time to teach our dogs basic sitting and staying orders, but do not feel distracted, we can not expect them to be called.
A dog who has trained something but does not always follow the orders will not even think about giving up his pleasure of running free just because you called.
The first lesson is therefore basic education and obedience when distractions exist.
Then you have to build a positive relationship with your dog. You should prepare to call your dog when you go out and reward him thoroughly with compliments and a "good" gift, not just an old biscuit.
It is important that your dog considers the word "COME" to be a good meal. Cheese, a piece of sausage or a piece of raw meat are an excellent incentive to come to them when they are called.
If you're used to calling your dog ahead of time, doing something you do not like, putting him in the cage, or interrupting playtime, nine out of ten chances are hard to come by. To answer your pet at the right time.
This is where creative thinking comes into play.
If it's time for you to go to work or something else and your dog is inside, give yourself a few more minutes with the dog.
Call your dog, but do not give him a box immediately and continue to have fun. Have treats or a toy ready and take a minute to create a short, fun bonding experience. Then complete the required task.
The short break with the treats or the toy eliminates the dog's stigma of what the dog did not like.
If your dog is small and does not come back, he eventually came back when you called and called. DO NOT punish your dog and do not scold him.
Instead of offering delicacies and compliments, "good dog".
Why?
If you blame, beat or punish your dog in one way or another, you associate this with the call "come" with abuse. Nobody likes to be treated badly, no matter how bad we are, and no dogs.
Using the reward system creates a sense of trust between you and your pet. Your dog needs to feel safe with you. If your dog fears punishment, he will not come until he is healthy and ready.
